I like this kind of music. I'm a guitarist and pianist myself. I was very into metalcore for a couple years in high school (BTBAM, DEP, Red Chord, Zao, etc) and also a lot of European metal (Opeth, At the Gates, Soilwork) etc. Right around when I moved onto other stuff (lots of prog rock and classic rock) is when these bands came around. Metal is a big genre. Lots of subgenres and lots of bands in general. Music in general is a monster that will never be totally understood.
